Fry (Elizabeth) Autograph letter signed ('Eliz.th Fry') to William Charles Ellis, Superintendent of the Hanwell Lunatic Asylum, reading "I am sorry to say that the situation I had in prospect for Rebecca Lee is not likely to open for her" and suggesting she might be employed as a sister in the asylum "given her good spirits and I hear that she has already been with a lady so circumstanced. I now also know a young person who would be glad to be a servant in the new institution [...] She leaves home not from necessity but in consequence of having an unkind mother in law. She has not been in regular service except that I have had her in my family for some little time past to wait on my daughters", four pages, mailing folds, scattered toning and soiling, remnants of red wax seal, remnants of mounting and restoration, 8vo, postmarked "19 June 1833"
