KRISHNA AND RADHA IN A TENDER EMBRACE

Opaque pigments, pencil and ink heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition depicting the beloved couple of Krishna and Radha hugging each other on a palatial terrace, a golden pandan box next to them, their respective haloes merging into a single one visually embodying their union, their gaze lost into each other's eyes, their intertwined bodies indicating feelings of passion and desire, set within black and white rules, and illuminated floral borders reminiscent of Mughal albums, the back with a stamped Indian princely state with monogram in the centre and a faded inscription reading Masuda Library (Ajmer) around the edges, below the signature of Indrajit Singh in black ink, mounted on a later white cardboard frame, 50cm x 37cm including the frame.
