Buffords and William Stewart Hunter (some mainly marginal spotting and staining, text lightly browned). Original black cloth, the upper cover with the title within a circle printed in gilt, the borders of both covers decorated in blind (upper cover detached, spine worn with a section lacking, rubbed and stained, corners bumped and frayed). Provenance: from the Collection of the late Hans Fellner. FIRST EDITION. Lande Collection 1861; Sabin 33937. 7 of the views are signed in the plate by John Perry Newall and one by Winslow Homer. The remaining 5 unsigned plates are attributed to Winslow Homer and are thought to be his first book illustrations in the medium of lithography (see Tatham's Winslow Homer and the Printed Book, p.22).
