An early 20^th century Sudanese silver cigarette box, Omdurman dated 1924

circular form with a pull off lid with hang over edge, the body with flat chased decoration of stylised scroll forms with eyelets. The lid centre with a textured boss chased in Arabic with the maker, Nazar Mubarak, Omdurman أم درمان‎ and the date in Hijri ١٣٤١ (1341) all within a lozenge band.
