First edition, limited to 315 copies, this being an OUT OF SERIES SPECIAL COPY BOUND FOR NARDELLI, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, ARTIST and BINDER, with an ORIGINAL mounted pencil sketch by Matthew Hillier accompanying the volume (reproduced as an illustration on page 38), 20 tipped-in large format colour plates, contemporary goatskin designed and made by Romilly Saumerez Smith, the edges rubbed with flaked graphite, silk headbands dyed with the colours used for the goatskin, housed in fitted box by Justin Savage, sealed with micro-crystalline wax and lined with acid-free kraft paper, the base of the box lined with felt, large folio, London: Basilisk Press, 1988
The paintings and sketches for this work were made by Matthew Hillier, the text was compiled and edited by Sandra Raphael and the foreword is by John Aspinall.
