A late 19th century French 950 standard silver gilt three-piece tea service, Paris circa 1890 by Boin - Taburet
in the Louis XV style, comprising a teapot, a milk jug, and a covered twin handled sugar bowl. Each of lobed baluster form upon a spreading circular foot, the teapot with a curved panelled spout opposite a caved ivory C scroll handle affixed to fluted rosette junctions, the hinged double domed lid surmounted by a lobed fluted finial, raised by a scroll thumbpiece, the sugar bowl with the same form of lid, the milk jug with the same ivory handle. Each with engraved decoration of foliate strapwork scrolls reserved with textured decoration to the upper section and lid. Each marked and stamped BOINTABURET A PARIS. (3)

Emile Taburet, jeweler, and his son-in-law, Georges Boin, antiquaire, traded under the name "Boin-Taburet" from 1873. The firm was credited for the revival of interest in Louis XV style silver work in Paris in the late 1880’s, and awarded a gold medal at the Paris 1889 Exposition Universelle. In 1900, Georges Boin is associated with the goldsmith Henry, under the name "Boin and Henry Goldsmiths". In 1906, at the International Exhibition of Milan, the house appears under the name "Henry Brothers and Co.", 3 rue Pasquier in Paris. In 1936, the house becomes "Henry and Son".
