An amethyst and gem-set brooch / pendant, circa 1925

Centrally set with a sugarloaf amethyst, in a foiled closed-back setting, within a graduated surround of circular-cut aquamarines and amethysts, to an oval-cut amethyst surmount, engraved "Mrs William Carter Fenton. Lady Mayoress of Sheffield. 1922-23." to the reverse, one amethyst deficient, length 5.2cm
