AFTER SIR FRANCIS LEGGATT CHANTREY (BRITISH 1781-1842): A 19TH CENTURTY PAINTED PLASTER BUST DEPICTING JAMES WATT, depicting all' antica in a draped toga in the classical style, raised on an integral cylindrical socle,

67cm high

Chantrey produced several marble busts of James Watt, and records show that Watt ordered himself a marble example in 1814, and another dated 1824 is in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
