pp. (vi), 114, (iii), (i), (i), half-title with etched frontispiece verso, printed title with etched vignette and copy number verso, leaf with etching and 'imprimé pour...' and Carco's 'Prologue' and text illustrated with 46 original etchings by Louis Legrand, 13 full-page, final leaf with justification and achevé d'imprimer together with the additional suite, full Jansenist black calf by Georges Cretté with his signature ('G. Cretté Succ. de Marius Michel') gilt, smooth spine with gilt titles, turn-ins ruled in gilt ato surround inset copper printing plates for illustrations in the book, gilt-spotted black silk guardleaves, marbled endpapers, original printed wrappers preserved, a.e.g., calf-edged marbled board chemise, small 4to. (288 × 236 mm), Châtenay-Malabry, Pro Amicis, 1931.

Copy number one printed for Henri Prost with original signed pastel drawings, a signed suite of first states, two copperplates and bound by Georges Cretté.

From the edition limited to 142 copies, with this, copy number one, one of four from the édition de tête on Japon with the additional suite also on Japon with each etching signed in pencil by Legrand.

This copy also has a duplicate of one of the plates which is dedicated to Henri Prost in pencil and a further plate is also inscribed to Henri Prost. In addition, bound-in at the rear of the volume, are 7 letters in the hand of Legrand, all to Prost concerning the production of the book. The final inclusion is a full-page leaf of manuscript, a critique of the book for the 'Journal des Débats' and dated '10 Janvier 1932", presented by its author 'Bormans': 'Pour mon excellent Ami, Prost'.
