Clay (Cassius)

Exceedingly scarce programme for the historic match between Cassius Clay and Henry Cooper at Wembley on June 18th, 1963, clearly signed by Clay in blue ink near the left margin, original wrappers now loose, some age-related discolouration and handling wear, 4to; with a rare ticket to the match, admitting the bearer to the Press Gallery, light glue residue to the verso, 8.3 x 10.5cm.(2)

***Muhammad Ali and Henry Cooper fought two boxing matches with each other. Their first match took place on 18 June 1963 (before Ali had changed his name from Cassius Clay) and the second on 21 May 1966. Ali won both matches.
