A Louis XVII / early 19th century French 950 standard silver écuelle and stand, Paris 1819-38 mark of O.B. Bourgois

Of circular form with rounded bottom upon a circular pedestal base, with applied twin foliate scroll handles with rosette terminals and calyx junctions. The body and base with applied beaded girdle and palmette rims, the domed circular lid with detachable cast stylised flower finial above a calyx. Edged with trailing fruiting vine. The circular stand similarly decorated. Makers mark underneath écuelle and reverse of stand, lid bezel and underside, the underside of stand with unofficial Silversmiths' Association (Association des Orfévres) 1793-4 mark.
