A George III sterling silver gilt ‘double action' snuff box / vinaigrette combination, Birmingham 1810 by John Thorton
Of curved rectangular form with rounded corners. The hinged lid with unfolding separate hinged compartment, centring a engraved crest of upon a chapeau a falcon displayed, encircled in the motto persevere. The ends with hinged lids with hinged pierced foliate grills. Fully and part-marked.
