TWO CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'LADIES' JARS AND COVERS.

Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period.

Both jars of ovoid form depicting garden verandas with flourishing banana trees and fine rockery, the larger jar decorated with three ladies watching a playful child, the other painted with two ladies playing chess accompanied by their attendant, each cover with a double-banded circular panel enclosing a boy frolicking beside a dragonfly with floral sprays on the sides, the base with a four character Chenghua mark within a circular cartouche, 14cm H, 15cm H. (4)
