A late 19th century Ottoman Turkish 900 standard silver chamberstick, with Tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II (1876-1909)
Of dished circular form with cast and chased applied handle formed as foliate forms, the detachable central column rising from an embossed swirling calyx, with engine turned band of pelleted lattice work, topped with an overhanging circular sconce with machined edge. The base with embossed decoration of trailing foliate forms with sprigs, the rims formed as flower heads and leaves. Marked with tughra and sahh marks to base section and top of sconce, assay scrape to central column, underside of base and handle.
