A THAI NIELLOED SILVER TRAY WITH ZODIAC SIGNS AND INSCRIPTIONS

Of square shape with flattened corners, resting on four rounded feet, with an everted flat rim reinforced around the edges, the nielloed decoration around the rim featuring lush vegetal scrolls, animals from the Chinese and Western Zodiacs, and Thai inscriptions on three sides out of four, the centre of the plate decorated with a large calligraphic composition (Thai initials) surrounded by a crown of five-pointed stars and triangles, 21cm x 25.5cm at widest point, weight 540gr.
