A LARGE PAINTED, GILT AND LACQUERED HARDWOOD HEXAGONAL CEILING CENTREPIECE
Possibly Egypt or Syria, late 19th - 20th century

Of hexagonal shape, the centre with a raised, circular sun collar, radiating carved geometric motifs repeating the traditional star pattern, ten applied bosses, with residues of polychrome paint and gilding in the shapes of flowers and vegetal meanders, within a thicker border, 101cm x 87.5cm.
