A mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) silver tray, Isfahan circa 1950 retailed by Adel
Pahlavi dynasty, of rectangular form with rounded corners, the moulded rim with chased flower head sections. The field with profusely engraved ghalam zani decoration of a central sixteen-pointed peony arabesque edged with alternating plain and herringbone bands, framed with scalloped peony and ring punched vignettes. All reserved against trailing peonies populated with birds, cornered with trellis work lozenges against rustication, these above shaped vignettes infilled with pairs of MacQueen's Bustards. The cavetto edged with a band of peony and ring punched vignettes. Marked to the reverse with standard mark (۸۴) and retailers mark عادل.
