An early 20th century Burmese silver small bowl, Rangoon circa 1930
Of compressed circular form, with embossed figural scenes from the Ramayana, such as Rama with his bow to slay Tataka, Ravana to appear to Sita alone as a mendicant (Sadhu), in search of alms, where Ravana then captures her. All against a textured ground, and within arched vignettes interspersed with foliate scrolls, and all above a band of stylised leaves. Unmarked.
