A mid – 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver sugar and cream set on tray, Isfahan circa 1972 mark of Rabii, retailed by Pirayesh
Pahlavi dynasty, a twin handled covered sugar bowl, milk/cream jug and a rectangular tray with rounded corners. The baluster milk and sugar on spreading collet feet, each with applied C scroll handles. The bodied with deep chased monabbat-kari decoration of peony cartouches between vignettes heightened with engraved ghalam zani decoration. The sugar bowl with a chased scroll and pellet rim, the domed lid surmounted by a pyriform finial, bordered with ring punched flower head panels and and engraved ghalam zani peony border. The tray with a central medallion of strap work arabesque within a scalloped border edged with ring punching, reserved with deep chased monabbat-kari peonies as well as nightingales attending rose heads (gul-o-bolbol), bordered with a rosette and twist band, the rim chased the same. Each marked underneath with standard mark (84) workshop mark ربیعی and retailers mark (PH in cypher). The sugar bowl lid unmarked. (3)
