A pair of large late 19^th century Austrian 800 standard silver candlesticks, Vienna circa 1890 by Simon Marbach (active 1885-96)

The stepped domed circular bases leading to a compressed knop and tapering column with a die stamped band of roundels, the capital with everted rim. Engraved decoration throughout of foliate forms. Marked to the base and below knop with assay mark and makers mark SM in a rectangular punch with cut corners. (2)
