A late 20^th century Thai silver cigarette box, Bangkok circa 1978

Of stepped rectangular form, the hinged lid with an embossed three headed elephant (Erawan) reserved with foliate scrolls cornered with bodhivastu. Faux wooden interior, with plaque with presentation inscription “with compliments, To Mr & Mrs J. Staples from Mr and Mrs T. Phornprapha Siam Motors Co. Ltd, 19 Jan 1978”. Marked ‘Made in Thailand’ underneath.

Box length – 16.45 cm / 6.45 inches
