An early 20^th century Burmese unmarked silver small bowl, Rangoon circa 1910

Of compressed rounded form, the body with embossed decoration of various figures of the tale of the nat (spirit) Ma Swe Oo, a country girl weaver who was killed by a tiger sent by the younger Taung-pyone brother, Min Galay, after spurning his advances, this depicted as a tiger attacking a woman. All reserved within shaped architraves with foliate scrolls below a chased border and above a band of stylised betel leaves.
