An early 19th century Austrian 13 loth (812 standard) silver vase, Vienna 1807 by Ignaz Joseph Gindle (active circa 1810-40)
Francis II period, of rounded form with twin open work loop handles. The everted rim with pierced decoration of stylised tulips, the body with flat chased decoration of fruiting vine within loops against a textured ground. Marked underneath with town/date marks, makers mark I.G in an oval, also with Vienna 1810-24 ecclesiastical tax exemption mark.
Height – 9.7 inches/ 3.8 inches
Weight – 219 grams / 7.04 ozt
The mark is a match for Gindle although earlier than expected.
