Royal Interest – An early 20th century Thai (Siamese) silver tennis trophy, Bangkok silver dated 1931
Of rounded form upon a domed circular foot. The pull off lid with detachable finial formed as concentric discs. Gilt Interior. Engraved to the side with presentation inscription reading “Tennis 1931 Open Mixed Doubles won by Mrs Batstone & Luang Bamrung” and “presented by H.R.H Prince Nakom Sawan” all in gothic script. Also engraved with the Thai Royal crown, princely monogram as well as the equivalent inscription in Thai. Unmarked.
