A large mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) silver cigarette box, Isfahan circa 1950, mark of Parvaresh
Pahlavi dynasty, of square form with a hinged lid with cavetto edge, all raised on four short bracket feet. The lid decorated with a cluster of deep chased monabbat-kari peonies, centred with a medallion and rosette. The outer edges with strapwork arabesques and a geometric border. The sides with engraved ghalam zani decoration of peony vignettes interspaced with arabesque rosettes, reserved with texturing and ring punching. Gilt interior. Marked underneath with town mark, standard mark (۸۴), workshop mark پرورش and signature.
