Christian Rohlfs, known for his contributions to the Expressionist movement. He studied at the Grand Ducal Saxon Art School in Weimar. Rohlfs initially worked as a porcelain painter before dedicating himself to fine art.

Rohlfs' style evolved over the years, moving from Impressionism to Expressionism. He was associated with the avant-garde movement in Germany and was influenced by artists like Vincent van Gogh and Edvard Munch. His later works are characterised by bold colours, energetic brushwork, and a focus on expressive forms.

Throughout his career, Rohlfs experimented with various techniques and mediums, including oil painting, watercolor, and printmaking. He was also known for his woodcuts and illustrations. Rohlfs' art was often inspired by nature, and he frequently painted landscapes, still lifes, and portraits.
