FOUR ILKHANID WALL TILES
Iran, 13th - 14th century

Comprising a small lustre-painted eight-pointed star-shaped tile, decorated with a spotted hare to the centre sat amongst flowers and leaves, with a pseudo-calligraphic border and plain border of lustre, all set on white ground, 10.9cm diam; a fragment of another star-shaped tile, painted in copper lustre and cobalt blue on white ground, with a central moulded design of rosettes and foliage, bordered by a band of calligraphy, 15.5cm x 9.5cm; a small triangular filler tile, painted in cobalt blue and black on white ground featuring a central rosette with three leaves extending into the corners of a triangular border, 9cm high; together with a moulded unglazed nine-pointed tile, featuring a geometric design emanating from a central nine-pointed star, 17cm diam.
