UNIVERSAL GENEVE. A MENS RARE STAINLESS STEEL CHRONOGRAPH MANUAL BRACELET WATCH Model: Space-Compax Reference number: 238872 Movement: Signed, 17-Jewels, Cal.85 Dial: Signed, black, white painted batons hour markers, white outer minute division, polished pointed hands with luminous insert, silvered subsidiary dials at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock position for chronograph with black stick hands Case: Signed, brushed and polished stainless steel, bi-directional black bezel with silvered Arabic numerals, twin chronograph pushers with black rubber  Bracelet: Brushed and polished, signed stainless steel deployment clasp Size: 40mm Developed during the Space Race in the 1960’s, the Space-Compax was created as an alternative to the Omega Speedmaster as NASA’s choice. It’s peculiarity is the rare “reverse panda dial” and the rubber pushers designed to increase the water resistance, allowing the watch to go to endure more pressure and to face harsher environments. Finding one in good condition and without replacement parts, along with a solid history is extremely hard and makes the Space-Compax a real collectors target piece.
Estimated at £9,000 - £12,000
