ALBUM OF 110 CARTES DE VISITE PHOTOS OF MIDDEL EASTERN, MAORI AND ORIENTAL INTEREST, c.1860s, including images of people in their traditional dress, of which 6 hand tinted, 5 images of Nasel-al-Din (1832-1896) Shah of Persia, 4th ruler of the Qajar Dynasty, together with an unusual collection of photographs by Harvey Webster in Auckland, c.1852-1971, subjects comprise two images of Maories in kakahu (feathers cloaks), a collection of photographs taken by M. Fritz in Porto (Portugal), subjects include Portuguese men and women, others by E. Courret in Lima (Peru) in addition an image of an Aboriginal man, a rare albumen portrait of Francis Chit of Bangkok of the king of Siam Monkut Rama IV (1804-1868), some Chinese subjects comprising Mr & Mrs Hudson Taylor, medical missionaries shoot by L. Phillips, finally a cabinet photo by the London Stereoscopic Company of General Charles Gordon of Khartoum (1833-1885). All images bound in a contemporary brassbound morocco album.
