A Louis XV mid-18th century French silver chamberstick, Paris 1746 makers mark obscured, possibly by Pierre Germain (reg. 6th May 1744, until 12th Jan 1783)

A Louis XV mid-18th century French silver chamberstick, Paris 1746 makers mark obscured, possibly by Pierre Germain (reg. 6th May 1744, until 12th Jan 1783)

the shaped circular section with a moulded rim and acanthus leaves. The fiddle and thread pattern handle with a central stylised leaf. Engraved to well with traces of a coat of arms below a Count’s coronet. Marked underneath with obscured makers mark P?, date letter F (28th Nov 1746 – 14th Oct 1747), charge mark for small silver items of Antoine Leschaudel (active 1st Oct 1744 – 1st Oct 1750), discharge to the capital.
