An early 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver twin handled sugar bowl, Isfahan circa 1930 mark of Ja’far

Early Pahalvi dynasty, of tapering cylindrical form, with a cavetto base and flat bottom. Each side with applied C scroll handles, leading to a moulded rim. The body with flat chased decoration of vignettes infilled with figures with engraved highlights to the dress, interspersed with quatrefoils of floral sprays, all reserved with stylised foliage. The upper section and cavetto base with trailing fruiting vine populated with birds (golo morgh). The underside with a band of guilloche rosettes and simple lunettes. Marked underneath with workshop mark Amal-e Ja'far امل جعفر (the work of Ja’far).
