Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, the vertical composition depicting two lovers seated in a plain interior with large green oval bolsters and a gold-embroidered floorspread, hugging each other, the maiden looking sad and in need of consolation from her partner, possibly depicting the final tender moments of intimacy before her lover's departure, mounted on thicker cardboard and framed within the typical Kangra band with white and gold floral scrollwork, and dark red borders, the back inscribed in English in blue ink Sarlal ..., 22.2cm x 16cm.
