Robert Cameron Galton (1830-1866)
"PHOTOGRAPHS OF HADZOR" VINTAGE LEATHER PRINT BOX, c.1864. A large leather print box used by amateur photographer Robert Cameron Galton, measuring 430 x 405 x 110mm, gilt-stamped title on upper cover, with Galton's name gilt-stamped on the box front beneath the key hole (unlocked, no key), inside upper cover gilt-stamped "Parkinson & Gotto Makers 24 & 25 Oxford St".
Robert Cameron Galton was an amateur photographer who worked as a calotypist in the mid-1850s, and moved on to working with glass negatives. Galton showed six views of Hadzor House, near to where he lived, at the London Photographic Society in 1864, which were housed in this box. [ref. Taylor, R.
