FOLLOWER OF JOOS VAN CLEVE The Christ Child eating grapes oil on panel 16 3/4 x 11 1/2 in. (42.6 x 29.2 cm.) The present lot appears to derive from a lost original by van Cleve, which can possibly be dated to c.1520/25. The composition was popular and other versions can be found in the Louvre, Paris and Wiesbaden, Gemäldegalerie amongst others (J.O. Hand, Joos van Cleve, The Complete Paintings, New Haven and London, 2004, p. 183)
