A George IV sterling silver gilt snuff box, Birmingham 1827 by Edward Smith

Of rectangular form with a chased ovolo side of rocaille C scroll and flower heads. The lid centred with a rectangular cartouche engraved with initials JSB in flourished cursive script, otherwise with engine turned decoration. Gilt interior. Fully marked between lid and base.

Length – 7.2 cm / 2.9 inches

Weight – 56 grams / 1.8 ozt
