A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE AND PORCELAIN CLOCK GARNITURE, RETAILED BY HOWELL & JAMES, SUPPLIER TO THE QUEEN, the clock case of arched plinth form surmounted by a porcelain urn with fruiting finial, raised on a shaped plinth base and with a porcelain panel to the front depicting a courting couple in 18th century dress, the pink porcelain dial decorated with Cupid and with Roman numerals, the twin train movement stamped 'HOWELL JAMES & CO TO THE QUEEN', and with 'Japy Freres' makers stamp, striking on a bell, the matched garniture candlesticks depicting Putti each holding aloft a candle nozzle and raised on shaped plinth bases, set with oval porcelain panels of cherubs,
