An early 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver covered sugar bowl, Isfahan circa 1900-20
Late Qajar dynasty, of tapering cylindrical form upon a tapering collect foot, the pull off domed lid surmounted by chased finial of a bird. The body deep chased monabbat-kari decoration of figures in a continuous frieze, with horses, dogs and birds, all against a textured ground, between engraved ghalam zani band of foliate scrolls, the base section with fluting. The lid with similar decoration edged with an engrave band of trailing leaves. Unmarked.
