A late 19th / early 20th century Chinese Export silver teapot/kettle, Canton circa 1900 by Ye Bo, retailed by Luen Wo of Shanghai
Qing dynasty. Of compressed globular form with a curved spout modelled as bamboo, the opposable handle modelled as bamboo, inset with ivory insulators. The hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable bamboo finial inset with an ivory insulator. The body with embossed and chased decoration of figures within a building against a rocky outcrop, with fir trees and various other figures. Marked underneath with artisan mark underneath 葉伯 (YE BO), retailer’s mark LUENWO, and SHANGHAI.
