A GROUP OF EIGHT CHINESE JADE 'VEGETABLE' CARVINGS.

19th / 20th Century.

Comprising: two carvings of pea pods one carved from spinach jade, the other from celadon jade, two celadon jade double gourd carvings, a finger citron carving and three melon carvings, one of which carved from jadeite and mounted as a letter opener, the jades 4 - 7.5cm. (8)

Provenance: an important South African private collection, acquired between the 1960s and 1980s, thence by descent to the present owner.
