Of cylindrical form, carved in relief to depict a pair of horses in a woodland clearing, with accompanying inscription that reads yiyou mengchun and ma jin

NOTE:

This brush pot is dated to the yiyou year in the inscription, corresponding to 1945. Ma Jin (1900 - 1971) was a painter who primarily concerned himself with depictions of horses, often in pairs in naturalistic landscapes.
