An early 20th century Siamese (Thai) silver cigarette box, probably Bangkok circa 1920 by Mei He
Of cylindrical form with a pull off lid, wood lined interior to body. The lid with embossed decoration of a thepphanom to the centre and four to the body, otherwise all reserved with flame pattern (kranok). Marked underneath in Chinese 美和 (MEI HE) and standard mark (solid silver) 足銀 (ZU YIN).
Height – 9 cm / 3.55 inches
The mark for Mei He is illustrated in Bromberg, P., (2019), Thai SIlver and Nielloware, Bangkok: River Books, P. 200 fig. 7.28.
