*** Marion Margaret Scott (1877 – 1953) studied violin at the Royal College of Music from 1896 to 1904. She composed music and led her own string quartet, organising concerts of British chamber music in the period 1900-1920. Scott also founded with Gertrude Eaton and Katharine Eggar the Society of Women Musicians in 1911 and served as its President from 1915 to 1916. She published on and Beethoven, as well as editions of songs of Ivor Gurney (1938, 1952)
