A WOOD FIGURE, PAPUA NEW GUINEA Depicted nude, standing on short squat legs with elongated arms and a stylised face, the figure is surmounted by a large bird, perched atop the head, with long tail feathers, a pointed beak, a tufted crest and small circular eyes, 86.5cm high. Provenance: Collection of Professor Robert Johns, acquired between 1968 and 1990.
