Sadequain: The Holy Sinner, First Edition, Limited Edition of 1200, one pull-out illustration with a small tear, original cloth, dust jacket, slipcase, folio, Mohatta Palace Museum Karachi in collaboration with Unilever Pakistan, 2003.
***Published to accompany a retrospective exhibition of the works and life of leading Pakistani artist and poet Sadequain Naqqash (Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi (1930 - 1987), held at the Mohatta Palace Museum, Karachi in 2002-2003. The exhibition contained over two hundred of Sadequain's non-calligraphic works and reflected the artist's existential preoccupations with human suffering underpinned by his famous notion of "mystic figuration." The book includes reproductions of some 400 of Sadequain's creations, supported by an anthology of commentaries by the artist's contemporaries as well as pieces by journalists, fellow artists and critics.
