A TIBETAN GILT-COPPER 'KIRTIMUKHA' PLAQUE.

19th Century.

With a chased and repoussé motif of the mythical monster mask exposing his fangs in a grin with cold-painted details, a sun and moon above his head, surrounded by foliate scrolls and flanked by flame pinnacles, the base with a border of dragons between a turquoise glass cabochon, the top set with a finial formed as cintamani offerings, 82 x 69cm.
