A TIBETAN JADE-INSET COPPER ALLOY 'BAJIXIANG' BOX AND COVER.

Tibet, Early 20th Century.

The rounded body with a flared foot moulded with lotus petals and set with four pear-shaped panels bordered by clouds and the image of Kirtimuhka, two inlaid with jade plaques carved with chilong, the shoulder with a chased decoration of the Eight Buddhist Symbols beneath a ruyi head band, the tiered cover with precious objects and rows of lotus petals, inlaid with glass and malachite beads and topped with an agate finial, 17cm diameter.
