A CHINESE COLLECTION OF FIVE JADE PLAQUES.

19th / 20th Century.

Comprising: a pendant carved in the form of a circular cash coin with a bat perched on the upper edge, one carved as an archaic coin surmounted by a dragon, a circular panel incised with the hehe twins on one side, flowers on the reverse and surmounted by a dragon, another pierced with a pair of dragons around a ribboned offering, and a further pendant with a landscape scene on one side and calligraphy on the reverse, 4 - 6.2cm. (5)

Provenance: an important South African private collection, acquired between the 1960s and 1980s, thence by descent to the present owner.
