An early 20th century Iraqi silver and niello confectionary covered bowl, signed Omara Salem
Of rounded circular form, the domed pull off lid surmounted by an ovoid finial. The base with engraved and nielloed river scenes of the Tomb of Ezra, fishermen in a mashoof, a boatman in a gufa, palm trees and dhow sailing boats. The lid with the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), a camel reclining, dhow sailing boats and a boatman in a gufa. The finial with a simple engraved band. Signed to the top of lid.
