A LATE 17TH CENTURY FRENCH EBONISED, GILT BRONZE MOUNTED AND TORTOISESHELL 'BOULLE' STYLE PENDULE RELIGIEUSE CLOCK SIGNED JACQUES LANGLOIS, PARIS, the case surmounted by a bronze pierced balcony over a domed top flanked by a pierced ormolu balustrade, the concave sides with arched glass panels flanked by free standing Corinthian columns on a stepped plinth base, the tortoiseshell with pewter stringing and brass inlay, the arched glazed door opening to the 7.75 inch silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring over the applied gilt bronze relief depicting Chronos, appearing to hold up the chapter ring, and resting on a plinth signed 'Jacques Langlois A Paris', mounted on a black velvet ground, the twin barrel movement with rectangular plates united by five knopped pillars, striking on a bell fitted to the top of the case, with outside countwheel and later anchor escapement and pendulum, typical restorations,
