A LARGE CHINESE CLOISONNE ENAMEL 'BAJIXIANG' MOON FLASK.

Qing Dynasty, 18th Century.

The flattened circular body with a domed central part to each side decorated in colourful enamels with a central yin-yang symbol within fleur-de-lis and stylised lotus bands, all surrounded by the Eight Buddhist symbols within angular archaistic scrolls, the sides similarly adorned, the cylindrical neck with plain gilt bands framed by two dragon handles, all raised on a splayed foot, 50cm H, 34cm across, 6.2kg.

Provenance: a French private collection.
